I have searched for this, but I am not sure that I have found what I am looking for. I have installed Debian Lenny server, and now I want to run a couple of desktop OS on that server. My goal being that the server is running, and my family and I can work on virtual machines running on the server. Can someone point me to the proper "how to" on achieving this? I would like to have two VM's, one running Linux Mint, and the other running a Windows. I would like to possibly have the linux VM start automatically when the server starts, and have it be available at all times without my family actually seeing the server.

    Thanks for your help.

may I suggest to update the server first to squeeze as this is current stable?

okay,I will do that first. could probably use the practice. once I am done that, do you know how I achieve the other issues?

there's various ways to do that... if you'd just said you'd want to run additional servers, I'd have said go with OpenVZ but as you want to virtualize desktops... maybe use VirtualBox?

    That should help: https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch07.html
