Thanx a lot for this great howto. Because it is based on Debian, I was wondering which parts are different when using this guide for Ubuntu 5.10.
I don't think you have to change a lot of things. If the Ubuntu Postfix is of version 2.2.x (find out by running Code: postconf -d | grep mail_version ), then you have to change the format of the .cf files, as pointed out here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1149&page=4&highlight=postfix+version You can also find details about the changed format here: http://postfixwiki.org/index.php?title=Virtual_Users_and_Domains_with_Courier-IMAP_and_MySQL
Thanx for your quick response. I've just put on my dancing shoes, and just started the cut & paste job. After having finished the complete installation, I got the following error when restarting clamav-deamon: /etc/init.d/clamav-daemon: line 71: log_daemon_msg: command not found ...done. /etc/init.d/clamav-daemon: line 60: log_daemon_msg: command not found I have tried to access my newly created imap account with Evolution, but there seems to be a verification problem. My mail.info tells me: Dec 12 17:25:34 server05 imaplogin: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.110] What have I done wrong here? Question: Do you still have to repackage/compile Postfix when using Ubuntu? There are so many plugins that come with the distro.
