I just created a new server with CentOS 6.4 running on my hardware node, I've installed OpenVZ Web Panel, and I have five VMs running on the system. Each virtual node is running Debian Squeeze. Every time I reboot the hardware node, the memory limits are being lost, both the RAM and the Swap. After this occurs, the system becomes unusable, the server no longer serves web pages and I get errors primarily on "numpty" and "kmemsize". Primarily the "numpty" failcnt is very high. Even though I set the sizes in OpenVZ Web Panel, the values don't appear to be saved in the container configuration. If you've experienced anything like this, do you know what might cause the problem?
Thank you very much Falko! This utility really helped me better understand memory management for OpenVZ. It confirmed that bean counter settings are meaningless when you use physical pages and swap pages. Great! Darin
