I have installed Ubuntu Studio (64bit) as per Falko's tutorial and am impressed by the fact that everything works so easily. My only gripe is having to reinstall VMWare server 2 every time there is a Kernel update. Is there any way around this? Many Thanks John
No way around that, that is the problem with using closed source products that are out of the kernel tree.

Maybe use a distro for which vmware provides binary modules, in that case the modules just get installed no need to rebuild.
