Hello I am a new user of the FC6 OS,I need to install a virtual machine using Vmware. The virtual machines must run the Windows XP OS and then both must be connected using Samba,But every time I try to acces the Linux machine windows keeps telling me its not in the network and the name "localhost" is a duplicate. I've gone over the configuration of the smb.conf and I find no mistake I have even used the test smb.con that samba.org offers [global] workgroup = METRAN encrypt passwords = yes wins support = yes log level = 1 max log size = 1000 read only = no [homes] browsable = no map archive = yes [printers] path = /var/tmp printable = yes min print space = 2000 [test] browsable = yes read only = yes path = /usr/local/samba/tmp If you need aditional info please Ask me and I will gladly give it to you, there is only one network card and both the virtual machine and linux machine can ping to one another without trouble
yes both systems can do that, also once configured I can see the windows shares from Linux and from windows I can see both systems yet if I try to access localhost from te network window in both OS I am denied acces with a message that says its unrechable on Fedora and something about name being duplicated on windows
