I am trying to install VMware Server on a Fedora 7 server, but cannot figure out what this means (I know this is a really simple fix, but I've searched for hours and cannot find the file(s) required... I've searched in /usr, /usr/lib, /usr/local...) What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include] The path "/usr/src/linux/include" is not an existing directory. VMware Server 1.0.4 # uname -a Linux deathorglory.net 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5xen #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 14:04:18 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Thanks, Billy
http://www.howtoforge.com/vmware_server_fedora7 do you have the kernel-source files installed as well have an look at that URL about half way down
I am not sure if the kernel source files were placed on my server, possibily deleted. I was using that url and did yum install xinetd and it was installed without problem. The only thing is that it will not find the dang C header files. I've tried the patch as well and got nothing, didn't expect it to fix the headers problem anyways.
