I currently have Vmware Server installed on a minimum Debian install and managed it via Vmware Console. I'm thinking of purchasing the Vmware Workstation 6 for Linux because of it's multiple snapshot feature which is very handy for pre-production testing. I can't quite work out if Vmware Workstation needs a GUI like Gnome/KDE to run? Can I just simply connect to it from another PC say using Vmware Console (or the Workstation equivalent tool)? Any advice or suggestion will be much appreciated. chrno
workstation edition of the VMware is an local VM so use it you going to need an desktop env (Gnome/KDE)to be used VMware server : local / remote GUI access Vmware workstation : local only
