web server read excel files in a browser

    Hi



    I have web server running centos 6.4 and it is working fine...
    I just want to ask if there's a way or software to install so that my server can read excel file via browser... because what happening to my server now is that if i have excel file in my server it wont view via web instead it will be downloaded..

    Simple answer: no.

    Longer answer: for xls(x) files you need an office program like libreoffice, openoffice, m$office.
    Or you have to convert them to html to view them (editing is not possible, of course).

    I will install an office program to my server?and then how to convert to xls to html?i knw editting is not possible i will use only this for sharing in my network..

    No. As far as I know there is NO way to make an office file viewable directly via browser.
    You always have to download it and view it in a local office software.
    Or you can try convert the file to something html-like but this in most cases will lose some information and is only suitable for very simple files.
