Hi, I originally setup ISPConfig on a test machine and managed to get it all running fine, but now that I have it on my live system I have run into a few new problems. So I will take them one at a time. Distro: Ubuntu (Fiesty Fawn) "Perfect Installation" when I log into web mail only the "INBOX" folder exists. So I manually created "Trash" and "Sent" folders actually INBOX.Trash etc. and ensured that the webmail client "Squirrellmail" was set to use these folders. The trouble is that when I delete or send mail the message is not moved to the correct folder. It just seems to dissapear. This is the same for squirrellmail and UebiMiau. I have looked at a some suggestions in the forums but am still having trouble. If I set squirrellmail to auto create folders the left hand menu within squirrellmail dissapears altogether, until I set it back to false. To me this seems to be a permissions issue, and I did not have this issue on my test server. any ideas ? Thanks
Yes, I followed the perfect setup on both servers. Then installed ispconfig. That is why I am a bit puzzled as to what could be different. after fiddling with configs the messages are moved to the correct folder, but the folders are not automatically created for each account. And if I change squirrel mails config to auto create the folders, the entire left pane of the webmail client remains blank.
Here is an extract from the error.log when the error occurs. Code: File does not exist: /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/web/squirreloutlook/src/themes/css/outlook-08.css File does not exist: /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/web/images/bg/bg_line_other.gif File does not exist: /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/web/squirreloutlook/src/images/bg/bg_title_grad.gif Note that the same error occurs if the "Create special folders" option is set to false. It seems to be a permission type problem if it trys to create the folders, because if I create the folders manually from within Squirrellmail, it all seems to work ok, even with the option set back to true, until a new user logs in and then we are back to the same problem for that account. One more differance between the original setup and this one, is the version of ISPConfig. The test server was setup with 2.2.14 and the new server is 2.2.15. Maybe not relevant.
There has nothing changed from ISPConfig 2.2.14 to 2.2.15 in this part of the scripts, so it is unlikely that the problem is related to the ISPconfig version. Is the user / mail account where you encounter the problem the administrator of the website?
Yes it is a site admin that I am testing with, but it happens on all accounts. I have tested non admin accounts with the same problem.. On further testing I have found that if the "Create Folders" option is set to true and I log into squirrellmail the left frame is blank, but when I create the folders and assign them to the correct function within squirrellmail, the left pane reappears and all is normal. So it does seem to be a permissions problem. The permission of each users "Maildir" folder is 700. is that correct ?
Is the left frame empty, or do you get an error like in this thread? http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14212&highlight=squirrelmail+left
The left pane is blank, no error messages are seen. But I did try the suggestions in that thread, but still no good.
Thanks for your time anyway. Its no great drama but more of an annoyance. I will just give instructions to users on how to create their own folders.
