I have moved across a vBulletin forum website to ISPCongig 3, but all I am getting is a blank white page with the Favicon in the page tab. The inspect option just shows the <head></head><body></body> tags in the page. The database connection to the website appears to be fine as I can do a backup copy of the database from the site area I have updated the config file with the required database and mysql access There are a lot of PHP errors in the log, but I don't understand the errors Any suggestions would be great, thanks! ... from what google says, seems like its an issue with the bracket type on line 78, as the original server was running on PHP 7.4 which in now deprecated. Apparently I need to change {} brackets to [] brackets in routing.php on line 78' I'm guessing its these brackets on the line? {0} change to [0]
Yes. But I guess other software parts might also fail if not made for PHP 8. Better install PHP 7.4 as an additional PHP version and use it for that site until you or your customer can update it to a newer vBulletin version. https://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig-php-ubuntu/
I changed the brackets and still showed a fault, .... there is a newer version 6 vBulletin out now (mine's 5), so looks like I will be updating to that, thanks again!
i would still recommend just adding php7.4 and using that first.. make sure the site is working.. if you try updating the software on that server now, with a broken site, even if it fixes the blank page issue, if any other issues show up, you'll have no idea if it's something caused by the software update or the website move.
7.4 was already on my home server, so it was in the site dropdown list in ISPConfig, site is up an running now ... thanks for the comment!
