    Hi Guys

SO i got my email to work ( for the record i was using oulooks test send feature in the accounts section and it always said it cant send so i assumed that email wasnt working but i can actually send and recieve when i came down to it)

my next problem is that i have uploaded a website to the server and replaced the index.html file with a new one , but still get :-

"This is the standard index of your website. You can easily delete it or replace it with another file. This is the index.html file in the web directory.
For questions or problems please contact the server administrator. "

I made sure the old site was not cached , even deleted the index.html file from the website but still get this message when i visit it . Where is it getting this from ?

    Web page not coming up

I'm a real newbie to ISPConfig, so take this with a grain of salt.

Are you certain that you're replacing the correct index.html? If your install is similar to mine, you would expect to find it in /<base dir>/web<some digits>/web. In the case of my system, I've been doing a lot of testing, therefor a lot of inserts/deletes, and have a lot of directories under <base dir>. I find it quite easy to replace the wrong index.html file.

what is used for FTP access to the website ?

im assuming i can access the website root that i want to change by using a name and password that was created in the user/email section of the site in question. Or does each user in this section have a seperate root and web folder ?

    1) Make sure that you have the administrator checkbox enabled for the user that you use to upload the files with FTP.
    2) Make sure that you upload the files to the "web" directory.

Please explain a bit more. You mean that you can send email to local accounts fine, but not to external accounts e.g. a gmail account?

i mean i recieve emails to my account from intranet and internet based address , , the other accounts on our server get emails delivered through intranet , ie local addreses, but not internet addresses ie from other domains on the internet

    1) Do the other addresses belong to the same domain?
    2) Do you get any messages or errors in your mail logfile, when you sent a email from outside to one of the other accounts?
