Hello, I am just wondering what is clamav doing in default Perfect Server installation: like this. I mean ... is it checking emails for viruses or is it checking FTP? It is consuming way too much resources and I don't have any clients on my server. Every website and email account is used by educated person. ClamAV helps my clients or server(me)? I do not want to uninstall rkhunter, nor amavisd. I know they are both important but I don not think that ClamAV scanning is very important.
ClamAV is checking emails for viruses. You may disable it, there is solution how to do it in this forum if i remember well.
Ok i found this article but it is about antivirus and spamfilter disabling. So i can not disable only antivirus in ispconfig? I also found another article and was also about antivirus and spamfilter.
You may disable just ClamAV. It is works like that email comes --> smtp --> amavis (amavis do spam test and antivirus check) --> inbox. so You must disable ClamAV inside amavis, here is some post i found about it: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-44443.html Also there is hint here: http://www.faqforge.com/linux/contr...ilter-and-antivirus-functions-in-ispconfig-3/ just skip amavis steps, there will be some info in logs about Clam do not work, but You want it to not work.
