What is needed for secondary DNS?

    Hello!

I have for a while been thinking about setting up my own nameservers and when I saw the latest howto, I figured that was the last push, but I am a bit uncertain.

Currently I am running Debian 6/ISPC3 on a 512MB xen vps which is running perfectly.
So my question would be what kind of vps would suffice for a dns only? There are some dirt cheap vps-providers selling 256MB with 512MB burst ram (OpenVZ i guess), would those do?

    Thanks for any advice!

256 MB RAM should be enough for a secondary DNS Server. To reduce the required RAM amount on that server, you can e.g disable the innodb storage engine in mysql as it is not required by ispconfig.
