Hi, I'm a little new to all this I have ISPConfig 3 installed on ubuntu 9 (as per the perfect guide, great instructions cheers ) And I'm having problems how to find a web site I've uploaded.. probably a little simple thing .. I can log in to ftp through filezilla or web browser and see the files I have up loaded, but clicking on an index page just displays the text in the file so assuming the server is on an internal address of 192.168.1.100 and the website is firstsite what url would I type in to get to the website? (On an internal lan, not through the web ) It does get a wee bit more complex in that I am trying to get the magento install file to load... but I don't think I am accessing it through the correct url.. on a side note, I'm not certain what php version I should set on the ispconfig for the site either... so any help would be appreciated cheers
You have to use the domain name that you enterd in the website settings to access the site. This domain name has to point to the IP address of the server in DNS.
That was a speed response and yup, I added the dns reference (and threw it into my hosts as the name of the site is also live on the web) And it works. Thanks alot! I'm sure I'll be back with a few more questions at some point
