whcih linux has 4-5yrs support and stable. i installed ubuntu8.04 did not do any system update,removed totem and added mplayer via synaptic.on reboot system became unusable.only desktopis showing no application tab at top and bottom. will centos be a good choice for desktop?
I'd use Ubuntu for a desktop. It has far more drivers and application than CentOS. It comes with three years of support and maintenance on the desktop.
