    I heard an a great podcast from the guys at RYOS (Run Your Own Server).org that the best thing you can do to your Fedora Core 6 Server is turn off all the services that you don't really need to run web/mail/dns/mysql etc. I have a Fedora Core 6 Perfect Installation from the VMWare image available for download. Got ISPConfig 2.2.8 installed. Which services can I turn off for optimal performance?

    Code:
    $ chkconfig --list

    The perfect server setup contains only services nescessary for webhosting and ISPConfig, so you cant turn anything off except you dont need DNS for example.

    Thanks, what about level 5?

    Should I disable level 5 on all services since X-Windows is not installed. From the "Fedora" RYOS.org Podcast, Gek said,
    Will this cause problems with ISPConfig?

    This depends on your default runlevel. If Runlevel 5 is your default and you deactivate all services in runlevel 5, then ISPconfig and all other services wont run anymore.
