Which window manager?

I will be installing FreeBSD an old pc for my wife to use solely for word processing and possibly web surfing. It will be connected to my lan for printer sharing. It is 350Mh with 320Mb ram, and I'm looking for a small, fast window manager. The WM's only function will be to start and manage AbiWord and Firefox. Icons and eye candy aren't at all important.

I'm thinking of Ratpoison, IceWM, BlackBox, or FluxBox. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I think XFCE is quite nice.

Good idea. I've played with xfce4 a little bit. I'll just install it and won't have to spend time fooling with the others. Thanks.

I agree with Falko, I use KDE here on my 3.2Ghz multi-tasking desktop. For an older machine with limited task usage (Abiword, Firefox), XFCE is a good choice.

Fluxbox would be quite small and fast....

XFCE would be a lot more confortable but slower...

    The call is yours ;)

I love XFCE and Fluxbox, they are both really quick I would recommend trying them both out because they are both worthy.

    Good luck!

I seem to fluctuate between KDE and xfce.
