Hi, I'm using Mac4Lin on Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy), and the border of my windows continues to disappear. The border goes and the titlebar goes. Is there a setting I can change to make sure it stays?
I'm using compiz-fusion and Emerald. I did a bit of research, and I think the problem may come from the fact that different programs were trying to control my window border settings. I think that I need to make it so that Emerald is in control all of the time... I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong. And if I'm not wrong... how do I make it so that Emerald is in control.
Hi, I have nearly the same problem... No window borders. I am using Debian "lenny" updated. Problem occurred after an aborted attempt to install Compiz.. I get the following error from the System>preferences>windows menu.. " Cannot start the preferences application for your window manager. Window manager "unknown" has not registered a configuration tool.. Any help would be great... Puck

Hello, Falko I want you to know I have had some e-mail help from the Debian-users list... I can get the Borders back by running: $ metacity --replace in the bordeless window that I get at login, that goes away at next login... Some more info: I have Two versins of each window in the bottom panel of my screen. Both are active, when I click "close" on one they both go away.. Really appreciate your taking some time, for this... Have a great day! Jack
