windows 7,xp and Debian

    I have windows xp and window 7 on my samsung R60+ laptop and i just finish downloading DEBIAN 5.0 LINUX(ISO) and i have burned it into cd.
    I tried installing the Debian just like window but its now running
    can anyone please help me out,in telling me how to install that linux. and i dont want to lost any of my file though i have backed them up.

    PLS -how do u boot LINUX if you want to install??.

    you have to have a an empty or extra partition on your hard drive to install another OS without wiping out the Windows.
    if your laptop doesnt boot with the CD you made, then either your CD is corrupted and is not bootable or your laptop BIOS setup to boot from hard disk first, change the CMOS setting to boot from CD 1st then it will work.
    (some laptops have the option of hitting an F key like F10 to get the boot menu before reading the hard disk).
