Okay, I will preface this by saying I am a total linux noob, however I have had some success.

My problem is trying to connect a Windows client to a printer on an Ubuntu file and print server. I can connect and print to the printer from two linux workstations, and I can see the printer in Windows, but when I try to connect I get the error "Windows couldn't connect to the printer. Check the printer name and try again" etc, etc.

I am using Samba and Cups on a 9.1 server, no gui installed. I can read and write file shares from windows, just can't connect to the printer. Pretty sure it is some silly thing I have overlooked in one of the conf files but be damned if I can see what I am missing.

I know someone is going to ask for more details but at this point I am not sure what details to provide. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Can you check the logs in the /var/log/ directory if there are any errors related to this?

Sorry, no I can't. I just got everything working today. I ended up installing Ubuntu Server 10.04.1 LTS. Pretty sure I did everything with this as I did with 9.1, but for some reason this one works.

Thanks for your reply, I was going to post "Success" when I noticed the reply.
