I am currently running a samba server on Mandriva 2006 on a wireless network (54Mb/s) in my house. What kind of access speeds do you normally get on a wireless network as I am getting about 500,000kb/s lan transfer when both machines access the router wirelessly and up to 2,500,000kb/s when one of the machines is wired and the other is wireless. The 500,000kb/s seems slow to me and I am wondering if there is a problem with my setup?
I found this on http://www.wifirst.fr/help/faq.jsp: 500 kbps (I think this is what you meant) seems to be quite low...
