    Here is my problem,

I am strugling for about 6 weeks to get my email to work properly with an blocked port 25.
I finaly was able to get it to work.
Now I am looking to get my webmail working, and I have red that I must enable the maildir cheqbox at properties.

I did do that and indeed I am finaly able to log in to my mailuser acount.
But now I cant recieve any email no more.

So now I am stuck with an huge problem do I uncheq the maildir so I can recieve mail but can not login......, or cheq the maildir and receive no mail but I am able to log in to mailuser.

You see both solutions arent an option. Anyboby out there who has an idee to get thing to work properly for me?

    TIA DaRKNeSS

Let's start with providing us some info. What's in your mail.log file? Post around 25 lines at the time of sending a message.

Please inform us how you sent the message. Webmail, mailclient (POP/IMAP?) local mail command? Where are you sending mails to? domain on your server, external domain?

The following does not look right:
    Code:
    Jan 19 18:33:17 dcs-server postfix/qmgr[5095]: ABDAEE51: from=<[email protected]>, size=451, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Jan 19 18:33:17 dcs-server postfix/local[5183]: ABDAEE51: to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=0.11, delays=0.06/0/0/0.05, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-)
    Jan 19 18:33:17 dcs-server postfix/qmgr[5095]: ABDAEE51: removed
    Jan 19 18:34:08 dcs-server postfix/master[5085]: terminating on signal 15
    Jan 19 18:34:08 dcs-server postfix/master[5566]: daemon started -- version 2.3.3, configuration /etc/postfix

The master process should never be terminated with a signal 15 when just sending emails. This is an indication ISPConfig tries to restart Postfix. Why? Something looks wrong in your configuration. Are you running monitoring tools? What about the status in ISPConfig for your services? Is Postfix having a green status? Is there maybe a inconsistency in your sites/users, and ISPConfig tries to correct that? (virt-user-......)

On the service al is green and running have just stoped the firewall myself so that isn't blocking.
I dont run any monitoring tools, but I am running webmin.

Okee to end my misery I am going to start over from the beginning. Will format my hd and reinstall. than we will know that al is working from an clean install.

One question up front must I cheq or uncheq maildir I have red the forums and sometimes they say cheq and a threat further ther stands uncheq.

I can only tell that I have Maildir on and I just switched my nameservers and the 1st mails are arriving from external sources. Including spammers who normally use cached information, but someone is quick.

But Postfix is doing a better job on my new systems as Exim was doing on the "old" box. :p Probably my fault, as I personally I am not very exited about Exim. Too complex.

Okee did a fresh install. And ofcourse al is the same.
I am able to send and recieve email from any domain try it your self
    [email protected]
But I can't login to mailuser, okee it isn't checked but if I do that I can't recieve any mails no more.

I am stuck I am very happy that I am able to recieve mail with an blocked port25. But why I can't enable the use of maildir????

The mailuser checkbox has nothing to do with receiving mail!

Maildir is not related to the mailuser checkbox. Enamble maildir under management > server > settings on the mail tab. Wich pop3 daemon do you have installed?

Think I have not explained it good.

I have enabled the mailuser checkbox by the user acount.
I think I instaled this pop3, Courier-POP3, I have setup my server using the howto, The Perfect Setup - Ubuntu 6.10 Server (Edgy Eft).

But If I enable the maildir checkbox (at managment - server - properties - isp server - email ) nothing (mail) works any more.
