    Fedora has bios/firewall issues
    Debian has ftp issues
Centos and probably just about every load with mssql-devel has php-pdo issues

I have not tried Ubuntu since it probably is just like Debian.

Debian has no FTP issues, I use it on many servers and install it regularily for clients all over the world. Beside that, debian is the best choice for the perfect setups and ispconfig as ispconfoig is developed on debian Linux. Insteed of searching for other Linux distributions, you should just describe your FTP problem so that we can try to find the issue in your install. You can rest assured that it is not a general debian issue.

Loaded Debian 6.0 for the 8th time and again the ftp appeared to work and did work for a few at a time but If I grab several folders it will lose its host and abort.

"Could not connect to host 192.168.0.50. Timed out trying to connect to remote host" which is on my lan.

If I did not know any better I would think that ipv6 is somehow messing me up. Any ideas?

Please do not reinstall the system again and again. This will not help you to find the problem in any way, instead debug the connection as described in the other thread.

There appears to be 2 different perfect server 6.0 ispconfig3 procedures. Is does dovecott or courier work better. I do not think I have a preference other than stability/reliability issues. I like using lots of email forwarding if that means anything.

    Thanks

Both work equally well, so it's your choice. If you don't have any preference, you can choose one or the other.
