I'm trying to add ip info as described here, http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_ubuntu_6.10_p3 When I want to save it, I've tried typing, :wq, and :wq! It worked before, but won't now. I tried loading webmin as described here, http://www.howtoforge.com/lamp_installation_ubuntu6.06 but that wouldnt extract, so I'm back to trying to work from text commands.
