yes /home/xen was presented and for good measure it was chmod 777. I have no problem using Qemu, but XEN is really troublesome for some reason.

Also I have tried installing it to a .img file i made (with the dd command) instead of a partition (/dev/sda4 is an empty ntfs partition). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
