I have a Hetzner EQ server running Lenny/Lenny Xen with ISPconfig3 on the dom0. It's using disk based images for various reasons. Is it worth it/time to upgrade to squeeze? I dupe'd the dom0 and did a test upgrade (following the howto, on a diff IP) on it so as to not interrupt the live guest, and it seemed mostly ok... mainly concerned about the Grub sections and some other comments about Xen3.2 vs. 4. What is the correct order for the upgrade - do I need to upgrade the domU and then the guests? Can a Lenny DomU safely host Squeeze and eventually prob. Wheezy guests? If anyone's dealt with this I'd appreciate any tips!
I haven't tried this myself, but if it worked for you on a test installation, I'd say you have done everything to make sure it works on the live server as well (however, there's no guarantee ). Since you can run any distribution a a Xen gust, I don't see why this shouldn't work.
Cool. The issue that concerned me was the Grub stuff. I reckon I'll setup a local test server to double check everything before doing it headless and remote on the live server.
