I've been having a hard time getting mail to Yahoo to go through. Here's a part of my mail log I've talked (online chat) with the Yahoo people and they didn't give me any answers as to why the email isn't going through. The log says "deferred" but the user NEVER gets it. Any ideas? I've run the tests, and I'm not an open relay, and I'm not listed in any Spam DB's...and I have a static IP, so I'm not being dumped because of anyone else's spam issues. I'm using Etch perfect setup. Thanks.
Do you have a SPF record? Do you have a reverse DNS? Is youd DNS setup correct? Try your DNS at www.dnsreport.com. Enter your domain in the [DNS Report], and have a look.
In that case you will need to get your domain "white listed" with Yahoo (it's the same for Hotmail, and many more providers) Did you try that allready? I have like you also a Debian Etch (the perfect setup), and all PASS at DNSreport. Mail going to Yahoo and Hotmail is no problem here, but I did email Yahoo and Hotmail a long time ago about the spam/junk/bulk/defer problem. They "white listed" my main servers domain.
Yes, they said that since the email was "deferred" that it would eventually get through to the Yahoo user (even though it doesn't!)...so they said there was nothing they could do.
Thanks for the help guys! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't doing something wrong or wasn't doing something that I should.
