I was looking in my AWstats and noticed several refernences to [email protected] in the external links section.
if I click on one of these links I get the follow message. you are about to log in to the site "mysite.com" with the username "webadmin", but the website does not require authentication. This may be an attempt to trick you. Is "mysite.com" the site you want to visit?
    What does this mean?

If you put a string in front of a domain name, separated by @, and enter this in a brower, then the brower will interprete the first part as username for an basic auth to this website.

Do you think that the webadmin reference was a potential hack attempt?

Its possibl that someone tried out that username, but I wont call that a hack as such things happen all the time on the net.
