    hi there,

    yum update seems not to work anymore. The last entry in yum.log is:

    Code:
    Apr 01 08:26:18 Updated: openssl-devel-0.9.8e-12.el5_4.6.x86_64
    So it seems there has been no updates installed since Apr 1.

    Invoking yum manually does not show an error message:

    Code:
    [root@server log]# yum update
    Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
    Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
     * addons: ftp.plusline.de
     * base: centos.intergenia.de
     * extras: ftp.plusline.de
     * updates: ftp.plusline.de
    Excluding Packages in global exclude list
    Finished
    Setting up Update Process
    No Packages marked for Update

    So there seems to be something wrong in the (repo?) configuration.

    My yum.conf:
    Code:
    [main]
    cachedir=/var/cache/yum
    keepcache=0
    debuglevel=2
    logfile=/var/log/yum.log
    distroverpkg=redhat-release
    tolerant=1
    exactarch=1
    obsoletes=1
    gpgcheck=1
    plugins=1
    exclude=postfix*

    # Note: yum-RHN-plugin doesn't honor this.
    metadata_expire=1h

    installonly_limit = 5

    # PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
    # in /etc/yum.repos.d

    My yum.repos.d:
    Code:
    [root@server yum.repos.d]# ll
    insgesamt 12
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2245  1. Okt 2009  CentOS-Base.repo

    [root@server yum.repos.d]# cat CentOS-Base.repo

    Any ideas? Why are there "No Packages marked for Update"?

    Thanks in advance.

    Unless someone had updated a package in the repos, there won't be any updates.

    Do you know of any updates packages that have been picked up?

    For example there were new kernel releases.

    Seems to be correct, according to centos forums ...
