    Howdy all,

    Not sure if this is the place for this and if not please let me know and I will post it in the proper forum!

    Currently Yahoo is "hosting" my DNS information... A name, CNAME, and MX!
    I wish to make changes to this info so as to point to my new static ip and at sometime in the future "host" my own DNS server! I am a little confused as what information goes with the various "names" especially the MX info! here is what I have "provided" to Yahoo! Could someone take a minute to review and possibly correct me and provide a small explain of what I did wrong!

    Type: Source Destination
    A Record = "example.com" xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    A Record = "www.example.com" xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    CName = "*.example.com "not sure what to put here"
    Cname = "mail.example.com" "example.com"

    MX Record = "example.com" 10
    = "server1.example.com" 20
    = "www.example.com" 30

    I should also say that everything seems to be working as it should with the current info I have provided...so maybe I did everything right for once and I'm just paranoid!:D
