    Hello,

I would like to install the Debian OS on a server using the Adaptec 2420SA RAID card. The card works with a Fedora Core 4 System, but it is not found during the installation of Debian.

At first, the CD-drive did not work when I used the "linux26" command, according the the "Perfect Setup" instructions. By using the return key alone at the login prompt, the system was able to recognize the CD drive. Then when the installer looked to partion the drive, it reports that it cannot find a hard drive.

If this does not work under Debian, then I will use the Fedora Core 4 for the "Perfect Setup". If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you,
    George

It is possible that your RAID card is too new for the Debian kernel. You could try Debian Etch instead or use Fedora.

    Adaptec 2420SA - Debian

    Hi

I consider buying an Adaptec 2420SA RAID card to my server. Do you have any experience with Debian and that card.

Did you try it with Etch?

    Best regards
    Mads
