I do not understand what you have written. There are links to e-mail and dns tutorials in my signature, maybe they are helpful. At least maybe you can more exactly describe what it is you are asking.
I think he means to know how the configuration mailserver.domain.tld at dns server should be. However, since the forum signatures only appear in desktop mode but not in mobile mode, some might missed your signatures. Im short what @Taleman means is to follow this link for email server setup and usages: https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-install-an-email-server-with-ispconfig-on-debian-10/
I apologize for my confusion and bad english I have a master server with ispconfig with server, dns, etc.... I have another mail server - it currently receives and send emails already my current dns A mailhut.domain.com. 111.111.111.11 MX domain.com. master.domain.com. 10 A master.domain.com. 000.000.000.00 How do i set up the mx records for the mail slave server if i want to have to multiple mail servers do i leave it as is but what do i add for mx for the additional server? A mailhut.domain.com. 111.111.111.11 MX domain.com. master.domain.com. 10 MX domain.com. mailhut.domain.com. 15 A master.domain.com. 000.000.000.00 If i want to just have one mail server would the mx record just change to the mailhut.domain instead of master? A mailhut.domain.com. 111.111.111.11 MX domain.com. mailhut.domain.com. 10 A master.domain.com. 000.000.000.00 Im checking out the docs
If you want to run two e-mail servers for an e-mail domain, you add both servers to the MX record, and can set the priority for them so other e-mail servers sending to your e-mail domain choose the lowest numberd one if it is available. Wikipedia explains this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MX_record To make this work you must first set up your e-mail servers so that e-mail received by one of them is replicated to the others.
I want to have two mail servers do i need to add anything for the mail slave server? I updated my dns to A master.domain.top. 000.000.00.000 A mailhut.domain.top. 111.111.11.111 MX domain.com. master.domain.com. 10 MX domain.com. mailhut.domain.com. 15 i read the docs but they dont explain the way ispconfig works with slave servers
If you followed the multiserver instructions in the manual, means you installed the slave node in expert mode and connected it to the master server successfully, then the slave server is ready to use. There is no difference in using this slave server to using a standalone system, except that you log into the ISPConfig GUI on the master to add or edit email domains, mailboxes, etc.
This means all email for domain.com gets delivered to the master and not the new mail server unless the master server fails. So no new email gets delivered to the new system under normal circumstances. One can use such a setup, but it makes only see if you installed a mirrored system incl. dovecot mail synchronisation.
Gotcha i understand now, so only the A record is needed. The mx would only be changed if i was using only one server for all servers or like you said the set up if it was a mirror slaved but since its not i removed the mx for the extra mail server. So pretty much no mx record for extra slave mail server unless there is stipulations
