Are my hosts properly configured?

    Hello, I have a doubt about the configuration of my host file.
    I followed the perfect Buster / Apache guide, I installed ispConf with a default field type A = srv-b.democrasite.com >> 163.172.143.149

    if I do; nano /etc/hosts :
    Code:
    127.0.1.1       srv-b.democrasite.com
    127.0.0.1       localhost localhost.srv-b.democrasite.com
    ::1       localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    ff02::1      ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2      ip6-allrouters
    Is it correctly configured ?

    Thank you

    No.
    Compare what you have to chapter 4 Configure the Hostname in the Perfect Server Guide.

    Hi, @Taleman
    I did it but I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking… If you don't want to help, don't do it… II don't know why you think I wouldn't be able to read? Thanks
    Code:
    127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain   localhost
    192.168.0.100   server1.example.com     server1

    # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
    ::1     localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2 ip6-allrouters

    Well, whether you can read or not, I'm just pointing out that on line two of hosts file the Guide puts the real IP address, FQDN and hostname there. Your hosts file is missing that line.
    I am willing to help and I believe I have helped fellow forum members here a lot, but I expect some effort from aspiring system administators.

    Ok Taleman, no offense on my part and I thank you again for your help and I can see all the help on the forum as well.

    I don't know if I want to be a system administrator, I'm certainly a bit too old now :) I'm just trying to be a graphic designer with some technical back-end to ensure a little autonomy in hosting.

    My computer background is more MAC and I came to Linux maybe 5 or 6 years ago.

    A big jump :) But I don't regret it, it's exciting. And I learn every day; thanks to people like you.

    Now, sometimes, in the tutorials, there's information that seems obvious when you have the technical back-end, but for the padawan, he copies what he reads, even if he tries to understand each step in broad outline.

    Look, entered the day before yesterday and today, I had to learn (in broad outline) the KDIM, the SPF, the rDNS, the difference in CNAME and A and @, srv... and I'm still far from having understood everything...

    However, I am also pressed for time and I need to be able to reuse my emails quickly.

    Now, I readily admit that this is a stupid mistake --°

    Thank you for pointing it out to me.

    Kind regards.

    hi, i still have a DKIM error. I take DKIM infos from IspConf > domain > democrasite.com > DKIM > pub.key
    what is the selector to put in my TXT entry : default_domainkey ?
    Code:
    default._domainkey.democrasite.com. 3600   TXT   v=DKIM1; t=s; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQC27oIc/KsLxwr0LnUnf4c+pCH41fmZfMJYegT5L331rqQbu3QdZTKzs0QMgRk69Yxhk2i6QqtuRiEZRruh1Qyz3C1DRNjzN46pbUQmZP1VAbS7xsKRWWR435IHQM4Fpr13T4eyU59D2AeYfVLM92gJF4+Emo0BUmXcW4PELGAyswIDAQAB
    thanks

    Copy and paste the public key from DKIM to dns as TXT record.
    If you created DKIM with ISPConfig, the DNS-Record is the complete DNS record you add as one line to name service.

    Yes. But it could be related to this bug: https://git.ispconfig.org/ispconfig/ispconfig3/-/issues/5741

    It's fixed in 3.2, which is scheduled to be released on 1 october.

    Also, you're blindly copying again, please take a look because you can see that you have to leave out stuff which I noted before

    fixed, almost… wrong entry in my Registar's TXT fields .
    1st field > default._domainkey
    2nd field > value of pub.key
    I passed the test from : https://www.appmaildev.com/ bu it say now :
    Code:
    " DomainKey:none "
    DomainKey-Result: none (no signature)
    If DKIM result is passed, you can ignore DomainKey result: none
    Notice: DomainKey is obsoleted standard, the new standard is DKIM.
    and when I try to send a test e-mail to my Gmail adress, Gmail kick my butt :
    Code:
    eturn-Path: <MAILER-DAEMON>

    Seems you tried to send to
    kamleon1er @ gmail.com but perhaps you meant
    kameleon1er
    If you plan to become a programmer or system administrator, learn to read each line character by character so you spot semicolon instead of colon, for example.
