Running pure-ftp on Ubuntu 14.04 with default installation (as most basic tutorials show). Trying to ftp to pure-ftp from another computer on the sam LAN using root and root password fails with invalid password, although the password is the correct one on the Linux machine. Where in the configuration of pure-ftp must I make a change? The files needing to be transferred have to go in the web documents directory on the Ubuntu box.
