Do you use numbers as user names? I don't think this is allowed.

nope the username im trying to log in as are support and test. Im not sure what those numbers are. They are not something edited that i replaced to hide anything. I think ive decided to wipe it when i get a chance and try again. Maybe next time itll work right.

    Im back :(

I'm back. Same problem so I'm more convinced that I'm not setting something up correctly. Heres whats changed since we last talked.
-I scratched the sever and loaded Ubuntu 6.06 with the perfect installation guide
-Previousely I was using a domain that was being hosted elsewhere as the main domain, now I have a new fresh domain name that is not being hosted. I am using godaddys dns servers to point to my ip at my house.
-Instead of the username test I now have thorst

The entire setup went fairly smoothly and pretty fast too. However when I was finished and I set the site up I am having the same issue as before. I can view the website by going to the domain. I can ftp the website to the domain. But still I cannot log onto either outlook or webmail. Ive tried using [email protected] & thorst & web1_thorst. All will not work. I did send a test message to it prior to testing if I could get in as was recommended before.

Heres everything I know since you all asked for them last time

    Netstat –tap returns

Thank You. I knew it was something stupid I was doing.

    I can now send mail.

I cannot recieve mail, and I still cannot log into webmail. To send mail I used outlook.

Any other ideas....judging with the last one- better recomend the simplest first. Sorry

Ps. I have these ports open on my linksys router: 80 21 9997 443 25 53 110 81 and i have the firewall disabled on the server itself so i dont think its a port issue

EDIT: EVERYTHING IS WORKING NOW- I turned th espam filter off and then the messages we coming through. Aparently it didnt like my test messages i was sending. After that the wemail worked fine. Thanks for everyones help. Much apriciated!!
