Command not found error

    Hello,
    I am new to linux and when I use the ifconfig: I end up with a Command not found error.

    I am pretty new to linux and cant figure this out.

    First of all, there is not that Linux OS, Linux is the Kernel, which is the core of the operating system. Then there are Linux distributions which bundle this core with tools to form an operating system. To answer your question, you must tell us which Linux distribution you use, as each one is a bit different, and installing commands on them differs.
