Confused with greylisting in ISPC

Discussion in 'General' started by Ignacio Garcia, Jul 3, 2026.

  1. On my new mail servers running Debian 13 and ISPC 3.3.1p1, using the automated installer I get rspamd and postgrey installed. From what I understand, rspamd does greylisting, and from what I read in at least other post in this forum, it is enabled by default and it is not wise to disable its greylisting module ( https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/potentially-unwanted-greylisting.93504/ ).

What I don't understand is whether rspamd is ONLY asking for redelivery of messages when it doubts the message is spam. If the answer is yes, then I understand this is a good thing. But, if rspamd's greylisting module asks for redelivery as postgrey does, I think there's a possibility of duplicating requests, isn't it?

Could some please clarify to me how rspamd-greylist and postgrey peacefully coexist in ispconfig?

    Thanks in advance

    Ignacio
