I have extra IPs i wish to use for nameservers and to split the hosting up..
everytime i save into the config file they dont show up either in debian or ispconfig..

has anyone got a guide for dummies on exactly what i need to do here??
something that will definately work with ispconfig..

First, you have to add them in the /etc/network/interfaces file in Deban and restart networking, this is not ispconfig specific. You should see them then when you run the iptables command.

The additional IP addresses need to be added in ISPConfig only in case that you want to use them for a website, if you want to use them for other services like mail or dns, then you dont have to add them. IP's that shall be available in the IP selector of the websites get added under System > Server IP in ISPConfig.

Btw. That's also described in the ISPConfig manual, as Howtoforge subscriber, you can download it here at howtoforge. Chapter 4.9.2.3 and 5.18
