Yes I realise that but at the moment its working and I am keeping an eye on the propagation of the correct IP. Once that has completed I will delete the zone from martin.gregson.me.uk and recreate it in ns1.gregson.me.uk

Hey Tom you mentioned something about saving it, how do I do that?

You can download the zone file from martin.gregson.me.uk (it's in the /etc/bind folder) and then upload it through the UI when re-creating the zone.

Oh OK... I thought I had missed something in the interface because I could not find the download zone file, but did see the upload zone from a file. Is there a possibility to implement that feature?

Thought I might as well post this in here too.

So... in the end, I obtained a block /29 of IP addresses from my ISP.
I switched my router to a router running OpenWRT which can handle multiple public IP addresses.
Having spoken to my registrar (easily.uk) to update the glue records for my nameservers, they have proven their incompetence at doing this simple task so have signed up to an alternative provider.
I am now the proud owner of a fully working ISP config 3 system including DNS control email sftp ftp Http https and everything else that goes along with it.

    Many thanks, guys

It is not working though, your secondary nameserver does not work, which causes issues. ;)

I've noticed that I'm looking into it now...

It's working a lot better than it was...
    A few hiccups

    I can't find anything wrong with ns2

From this end, it all seems to be working fine but obviously not to the rest of the world
It is set up identical to ns1 I can ping it but can't dig it (that sounds so retro )

What can I do to help find the problem

Is ns2 mirroring ns1 or have you added a secondary zone?

    I am mirroring ns2 with ns1

Should the main server be mirrored with ns1?

    Edit

No, ns2 should be a mirror of ns1. Please double check your settings of the zone and servers.

    One last question.

Do I need to create a new zone for each domain?

As far as I can see, yes.

For every root domain, yes. Subdomains are created within the zone ofcourse.
