Sorry if this is in the wrong area... I want to put a dns server in my DMZ that serves as both the authorative server for my internal network and to the world as the authorative server for my web, ftp, mail servers. Any suggestions?

You can setup the DNS server configuration manually, use a tool like webmin or install ISPCOnfig on the Server and use the DNS Manager which is part of ISPConfig. For ISPConfig you will find several Howtos on Howtoforge.

If u have a server in dmz zone then u have to dnat and snat to your server to be visible. The only problem in this case is that all the logged traffic in your dns server will come from your router.
