Hello Guru! Need help in configuration of dovecot. Every thing work except I cannot login to dovecot(POP3) using names from virtualusertable(postfix). Only real names are possible like web1_user Is it possible to login pop3 using "[email protected]" ? Does ISPConfig create aliases for mail boxes?
You can only login with the username, not the email address because ISPConfig uses linux system users and the @ sign is not allowed in linux system usernames. You can create aliases for mailboxes in the mailbox settings.
Webmail plugin (uebimiau) understands all formats (web1_user , [email protected], [email protected]) It looks like problem in configuration of dovecot POP3 server. Is there any idea? (dovecot+postfix) Is it possible to inform dovecot about virtualusertable from postfix?
No, its exactly that what I posted above, no dovecot misconfiguration. The webmail package is patched to understand other username formats, it reads the information directly from the mysql database!
