Email rejected if domain has no email address It looks like that postfix doesn-t work right if there is a host without any email address. I then get: Any ideas why this happens?
Thats the correct behavior. What else did you expect to be happen if there is no email address for this domain, you get the error that there is no email address
Understandable if it is an isolated problem but it doesn't work with any domain on the same server anymore.
Let me make sure I understand your question / problem correct. For some reason email send to a domain on your server with no email address does not exept the email? If this is true, than the message "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table" is correct, as there is no email address... or .. am I wrong thinking this?
If I have the domain abc.tld and the domain xyz.tld and for example abc.tld does not have any email address then also [email protected] would not work anymore. As soon as abc.tld has one email address [email protected] will work normaly.
Is there anything in your mail log related to this? Can you post the real domains and email addresses here as well as your /etc/postfix/virtusertable when abc.tld doesn't have any email address?
