Error on Vacation Plugin

    I have just installed the vacation auto responder, the option appears on the Squirrelmail however it brings this error

    Error: Unable to connect to FTP server. Please try again later.

    Various blogs suggest i change/edit the config.php to "$ftp_passive = 1;"

    Challenge it on viewing this PHP file i cant get that command, on manually entering it webmail disappears alltogether.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    What vacation plugin? Are you referring to a specific tutorial? If so, which one (URL)?

    However today i installed VSFTP on the box and the error on the Vacation cleared.

    Still I would want to understand the relation between FTP and the plugin. SInce i didnt have any interest in the VSFTP application rather I just wanted the auto responder to work.
