.htaccess problem need help

hi,
I am trying to configure .htaccess with my apache ..everything seems working ..for the first time..i tested it from my pc ..when i fired my page/doc i got the authentication required window and after putting username and password i got the page but after that now i can se the
page directly it isnt asking for any username password ..
nothing special in httpd log_error..need help

Clear your cookies and browser cache, and you should be asked for your password again.

It wasn't due to cookie ..because i have cleared my cookies and tried several times ..before this posting may be some script error or something..anyway i manage the script again and now it working...
