About 5 times a second, a new message is generated:

This is the Postfix program at host server1.gonzo.banthewasp.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

    The Postfix program

I've already seen the posting at
    http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-512.html
and I've made sure that localhost.gonzo.banthewasp.com is listed in
/etc/postfix/local-host-names (I didn't have to add it - it was already there).

The original poster seems to have solved the problem thus:

I will delete this email and try to create another.

Trouble is, I'm not sure what he means by "delete".
Does this mean deleting it from a queue somewhere?
I don't know how to do that.

I guess there are two problems:
    1. The message to admispconfig is being generated in the first place -
I don't know why or how to cure it.
    2. The message to admispconfig can't be delivered. I don't know why that is either.

At the moment the only way I can stop these emails being generated
is "postfix stop" - which is not ideal in the long term.

    Panic over

    Putting

    mydestination = /etc/postfix/local-host-names

    into /etc/postfix/main.cf did the trick.
    No more loopy loop stuff.
