install ispconfig with apt-get?

    Hello,

    is there a way to install ispconfig with apt-get?

    No. But you simply have to download the installer, unpack it and run the setup script. you dont have to modify any config scripts manually.

    OK, that's nice but could you show the commands on how to simply download the installer, unpack it and run the setup script from the shell?

    It seems that everybody knows it from somwhere as I couldn't find it on this forum?

    It may be usefull for all those who are used to GUI of Windows and want to get into dark world of the shell...

    Is there a specific reason why "Perfect Installation" guides do not include any of the GUI's (KDE, Gnom, etc...) in server installs? Wouldn't it make it easier in such tasks as downloading those installation files?

    Yes, there's a reason: It's a server, and on server's you don't run desktops as they are an additional security risk! For example, they open additional ports on your server...
    On servers you try to install as few software as possible.
