    not shure, if this belongs to here, but my update from .9 to .10 is stuck. Because I'm installing the german version the line it hangs is:

    I saw messages like this in another post here before but without solution...however this is top-output:

    in this stadium...is it safe just to reboot the server and wait for a possible solution or should the server stay like this? I did a reboot once already and it didn't seem to harm the system, but I'm not shure, what's going wrong....

    Just press [ctrl] + c to get the prompt back. Rebooting is not nescessary. Then execute the command:

    df -h

    and post the output.

    well, output is (afer i already did the reboot :) ):

    Code:
    Dateisystem Größe Benut Verf Ben% Eingehängt auf
    /dev/hda1             7,5G  2,0G  5,1G  29% /
    tmpfs                 125M     0  125M   0% /dev/shm

    ...maybe there went something wrong or changed differently then expected with my last apt-get upgrade?

    Seems to be a problem with gzip.
    How long did you wait?

  6. schmidtedv

    schmidtedv Member HowtoForge Supporter

    about 15 min....the last Updates started right away, that's why I'm so confused...my second server, the one at home did the update perfectly in time....hmhm. However, if I would start a 4th try....would there be anything from the last update-starts I would have to delete or so? maybe some temp-files?

    And how long should I wait for the update before stopping?

  7. schmidtedv

    schmidtedv Member HowtoForge Supporter

    ...maybe, maybe not, but I finally got it started!

    I took another look in "top" right after reboot, because phpSysInfo told me that memory is used by 97%...although the kernel does this after a while, I was thinking that this is the point with only 256MB at all???

    However, I stopped postgrey, because this was beside mysqld the main memory-user and restartet ./setup again...after 2min. waiting on the same "...wird vorbereitet"-screen it went on.

    My System has 2 domains running with a compaq 700MHZ PIII, 10GB, 256MB...is there anything I could increase performance or is this system fine like it is?

    Actually, gzip takes at the beginning of the setup (changing a couple times in "top") nearly 90% cpu....

    ....a small question on the end: is it a security risk to leave the files include_path in php.ini for phpSysInfo on "." or should I comment that out again?

  8. till

    till Super Moderator Staff Member ISPConfig Developer

    ISPConfig needs to unpack about 30 MB of files, this may increase the load for a short time during installation. But thas normally not a problem.

    The include path should contain ".", otherwise relative includes wont work anymore.

    So, because it wasn't like this in original php.ini (/etc/php4/apache2/php.ini), it would be correct to do it this way:

    Code:
    [SIZE=1]
    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    ; Paths and Directories ;
    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

    With the serverload I have to figure out what's slowing him down...are there some programs that would be usefull to check what's maybe going on with memory or maybe even with network-traffic (maybe there are to many bots or what else...)

    Same problem here. Need help. I will not panic and will wait for your solution:

    ./setup2: line 860: ispconfig_tmp/php/bin/php: No such file or directory
    ERROR: The PHP binary coming with ISPConfig does not work properly on your system! The installation routine stops here!

    root@jfo:/# apt-cache search libmysqlclient

    libmysqlclient10-dev - LGPL-licensed client development files for MySQL databases
    libmysqlclient12 - mysql database client library
    libmysqlclient12-dev - mysql database development files
    libmysqlclient14 - mysql database client library
    libmysqlclient14-dev - mysql database development files
    libmysqlclient15-dev - mysql database development files

    PS: Upgrade from 8 to 9 went smoothly... nothing was touched in mysql and now this happened.

    Which mysqlversion do you have installed? 4.0.x, 4.1.x or 5.x?

    I am very sorry about this nonsense. To many things at the same time:

    mysqld Ver 5.0.22-Debian_0ubuntu6.06-log for pc-linux-gnu on i486 (Debian Etch distribution)

    Thanks

    Plese execute:

    apt-get install libmysqlclient15-dev

    and then:

    mkdir /root/ispconfig

    and then unpack and run the ISPConfig setup script again.

    ...ähm...just a short hint, if I edited the right php.ini and the right part of it for the mentioned include_path?? :)

    If you want to know which php.ini is used by your PHP, make a script which includes the function phpini();, which shows the path to the php.ini.

    This time the compilation failed because your system time is wrong. Plaese execute:

    ntpdate pool.ntp.org

    to correct your system time or set it manually to the correct time and date. Then execute:

    mkdir /root/ispconfig

    and run the setup again.
