    Hi guys.
I have faced with an odd problem with my brand new ispconfig 3.1.4.
seems very user friendly with nice new features but I think something about this version is going wrong.
I have installed it many times with many different methods on different linux versions but all af them will face ONE exact problem!
when I install and config my server and define a new client with new website, in the package installation area no success in installation. every package i try to install will face with error.
unfortunately I could not find any log file containing any error but I have recognized that now new subfolder can be made under ispconfig orders.
At first I thought that there is some access privilege issue is occurred but when I tried to install a web based package manually I faced more issues.
When I copied the source of owncloud to a subfolder and tried to install it through web wizard errors showed that the program dosn't have the rights to modify or create files. Hence I changed the subfolder access rights by CHMOD command but some more issues occurred.
Any help from you guys will be highly appreciated

How is your setup? All in one server? Or spread acros multiple hosts?
If it's the latter, then it's not possible at this time.
If it's the first, did you check any logs?

As mentioned before I have tried it many different ways
    but my latest situation is:
Debian 7 x86 all in one server based on dovecot and nginx
Installation through the auto install script released by this site
no multiple hosts just this one server
I have checked the folder var/log/ispconfig/cron.log and here are the latest events:

Did you try anything from this topic?
Did you turn on debugging for the logging? If not, do this and retry, then post the the part of the logfile.

When ISPConfig is not creating folders, then a common mistake is that a symlink is used for /var/www. ISPConfig detects this as a security violation and will stop to create folders.

The php scripts run under the same user that owns the folders, so a chmod is not required as PHP can always write to it, unless you missed enabling suexec (which is active by default btw) on an apache server or have chosen a wrong php mode on apache like mod_php, the php mode must be php-fpm or php-fcgi (which is the default) on apache systems.

But Tuumke already pointed out how you can find out what's wrong with your server.

you know it seems very odd to me because I have configed many servers using old ispconfig with no issues but here with this new one I dont know what comes wrong!!!! is it possible that there is some issue in my server because it's a vps (Openvz)???

Please see my post above: Do you used a symlink for /var/www ?

And Tuumke posted a link above on how to debug the server actions to see why it can't create the folders or install softare.

i have no symlink. I enabled my debaug but now success. I'm absolutely dissappointed with this version because even a simple website does not work. the things that I easily would do with previous version

Then please post the debug output that you get on the shell when you create a new website in ISPConfig. What you posted is the general test script and not the debug mode. Read the whole post, debugging is covered at the end.

This version works es fine as any previous version. You are currently blaming iISPConfig for problems of the underlying system setup of your virtual server. Enable debug mode, disable the server.sh cronjob, create a site, run server.sh and post the output as described in the debug instructions.

One reason can be e.g. that the VM default image that you use has no running cron daemon. But you can see that with debug mode as well, if it works in debug mode when executed manually, then you have a problem with cron on your system.

Cron does appear to be running since he posted /var/log/ispconfig/cron.log?

    @burice
Then like till says, Disable the cronjob for server.sh (usually crontab -e from an ssh session and comment out the lines with a #) and execute it manually by running /usr/local/ispconfig/server/server.sh. Then post back the results of /var/log/ispconfig/ispconfig.log here.

Also, you might want to use Debian 9 meanwhile and not Debian 7 anymore...
