Are their any other packages that are similar to ISPconfig? Here's my situation:
My server resides on my school's network. They handle the DNS. I am the only person hosting a website on this machine. Others may do so in the future, but so far, I am the only one. I'd like to be able to configure proftpd, postfix, and mysql through a web interface. If I can find web front-ends for each of these individual services, that works too. I already know about phpmyadmin.

You can try Webmin. But why don't you want to use ISPConfig? It should suit perfectly to your needs.

Falko, you are awesome. You're guide to setting up an Ubuntu server is fantastic. My problem is that since I don't have a need for DNS (therefore didn't install it), ISPconfig chokes during the install.

ISPConfig works fine with BIND disabled.

    1) Install Bind, but dont start it and do not enable it to start at boot time.
    2) Now you can install ISPConfig.
