I am preparing an installation of Vtiger www.vtiger.com and a long list of prerequisites have been installed on my system. The last one on that list (I have not installed that yet) imap2004g. I want to be sure it does not conflict in anyway with postfix. I presume not because postfix is a mailer and Imap2004d is an Imapserver Can anybody please confirm if this will be a problem or not. I run debian sarge 3.1 and I have checked that currenlty courier-imap is installed on the system. But I am not aware of any program using it. But below you can see when my server runs these processes are running as well: 1296 root Aug31 /usr/sbin/courierlogger -pid=/var/run/courier/authdaemon/pid -start /usr/lib/cou ... 1297 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain 1301 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain 1302 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain 1303 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain 1305 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain 1306 root Aug31 /usr/lib/courier/authlib/authdaemond.plain Thanks for your replies and or advice
That's right. I'm not sure which format Imap2004d uses to store emails (mbox vs. Maildir), so you might have to change this in ISPConfig.
thanks falko Thanks Falko, For your quick reply. I will go and check it. (I really am positivly impressed with your dedicated approach to this forum)
found information in the FAQ of imap2004 this is in Imap2004 faq, I post this for people who might have followed this thread: I working my way through and will keep you posted
New release upcoming so I will wait a bit I just found out Vtiger is to release their version 5 stable within a month so i will be patient for a while before I do stuff i would regret. In the mean time I will try and educate myself on the subject (at the moment the explenations given by imap2004 are way out of my league
So what I assumed was right: Imap2004d supports mbox, but not Maildir. So make sure you disable Maildir in ISPConfig.
postponed installation I have postponed my installation for now (I not sure if it will happen or when it will happen). So anybody eager to know how it works must test themselves. If i will do the installation, I will report on this forum Falko sorry, but Your hints did help me understand a lot more about imap etcetera Sorry: Live is what happens when your busy making other plans
